Position Title:  Territory Sales Representative

Date: February 11, 2014

Main Functions: Responsible for all sales and new business development in assigned territory and to utilize their experience to increase sales and expand the company’s territory into untapped markets. To research/contact potential customers to sell our specialized product as required, achieving target sales objectives as well as managing the quality and consistency of product and service delivery.

Reports to: General Manager


Responsible for the entire sales cycle from lead generation through post sale follow-up including:

  • Gain complete understanding of products sold
  • Develop and maintain sales materials
  • Prepare action plans and schedules to identify specific targets and to project the number of contacts to be made
  • Cater to a mature market
  • Prospect new customers – make cold calls
  • Through a variety of mediums search out prospective clients
  • Establish contact with prospects and qualify potential buyers
  • Develop a positive ongoing relationship with customers to ensure that NOVATRAX International is exceeding their expectations
  • Follow up on new leads and referrals resulting from field activity
  • Close sufficient sales to exceed sales plan objectives
  • Provide after sales customer support
  • Manage account services through quality checks and other follow-up
  • Identify and resolve client concerns
  • Attend trade shows and dealer/customer events
  • Write reports – sales potential, growth expectations, achievement, etc.
  • Derive a marketing plan to meet sales objectives
  • Maintain accurate files, including customer transactions and sales records
  • Participate in marketing events such as seminars, trade shows, and telemarketing events
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Proven skills in the complete sales process

  • Knowledge of advertising and sales promotion techniques

Working Conditions:

  • Work indoor and outdoor
  • Comfortable with detailed work
  • Daily working hours from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a half hour unpaid lunch
  • Additional hours may be required during travel away from the office in pursuit of sales (customer / dealer visits, tradeshows, etc)
  • May work longer hours during busy season
  • Able to lift equipment weighing 35 lbs

Employment Requirements:

  • 3 – 5 years sales and marketing experience
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma
  • Post Secondary Diploma in business, sales, and marketing, or considerable industry related experience
  • Exceptional, verbal and written communication skills – English Language
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule with occasional overnight travel and weekend and/or evening work
  • Visibility requires maintaining a professional appearance and providing a positive company image to the public
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to travel within North America

Additional Assets:

  • Knowledge of the Heavy equipment – farm, forestry, construction & waste
  • French or Spanish communication skills – verbal and written
  • Experience with Business Visions
  • Experience with Goldmine CRM
